Overview The Civil Engineer will manage and maintain civil infrastructure within a Facilities Management (FM) setting. Responsibilities include overseeing maintenance of buildings and roads, ensuring compliance with Qatar’s building codes and safety standards, and supporting FM projects with technical expertise. Your role Civil Works Management • Oversee maintenance and repair of civil structures including buildings, roads, pavements, and drainage systems. • Ensure proper execution of Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance for civil assets. • Conduct inspections and assessments of structural integrity and recommend corrective actions. Project Support • Provide technical expertise for civil works in FM projects, including renovations and upgrades. • Review civil drawings, specifications, and ensure compliance with Qatar building codes and international standards. Compliance & Safety • Ensure adherence to Qatar regulatory requirements and health & safety standards during civil works. • Implement risk assessments and safety protocols for all civil maintenance activities. Reporting & Documentation • Maintain accurate records of civil maintenance activities and asset performance. • Prepare technical reports and recommendations for improvements and cost optimization. About you • BSc degree in Civil Engineering. • Preferred: Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or equivalent. • Minimum 3 years in the same position within Facilities Management. • Overall 10+ years of experience in civil engineering roles, preferably in FM. • Strong knowledge of building structures, finishes, and civil maintenance practices. Skills • Proficiency in CAFM systems, MS Office, and AutoCAD. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. • Will be required to travel within the Middle East region to projects in a variety of geographical locations, including Saudi Arabia. • Developing and maintaining relationships with clients, attending meetings, workshops and seminars. • Other duties associated with the main role and responsibilities will be requested from time to time. Ensures all activities are undertaken in compliance with Company and contractually defined policies, regulations, and standards. Apply contractual acumen engaging with Contractors on schedule, technical and cost issues. Establish and maintain effective relationships and open communications with contractor and company functional teams (safety, quality, engineering, business). Attend activity planning and risk assessment meetings, assist contractor in identifying schedule mitigations and improvement. Ensure safety processes and standards are maintained by assuring Contractor completes daily and weekly walk-through of construction areas. Attend onsite workface planning and safety meetings and toolbox talks to ensure there is a clear understanding of the activities that are to be performed. Assure project schedule compliance by working collaboratively with Contractor identifying construction constraints and mitigation actions. Review of contractors daily weekly and monthly reports analyzing performance and verifying progress and status. Bachelors Degree in Sciences or Engineering. 8 years' experience with Large Projects in Construction related disciplines (e.g., construction, installation, fabrication, execution, completion, hook-up, etc.) in the Oil & Gas Industry, including 1 year of experience in a supervisory role, including acting roles, or oversight of service/vendor personnel. Demonstrate extensive experience of Mechanical construction installation hook up, pre-commissioning methods and ways of working preferably in a major LNG Project. Mechanical equipment and systems experience and familiarity with relevant installation construction processes and relevant industry codes. Experience with Oil and Gas companies, contractors, service companies, or heavy construction companies. Knowledge of design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria related to major fabrication, transport, installation, brownfield execution, and hook-up, as applicable to the project scope. IT literacy: Word, Excel, PDF, skills to support reporting, reviewing and communication requirements. Demonstrates sound written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read and translate approved for construction drawings. Ability to use (Read) Navis works (3D model) Ability to prepare, approve and /or verify piping fabrication plans. Ability to work within document control systems reviewing, consolidating, and approving technical and project documents. Ability to read and translate primavera schedules.
