A Leading Garments Manufacturer in Bangladesh is looking for Senior Fabric Specialist (Woven)

Job Description / Responsibility

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Fabric Specialist with expertise in woven fabrics to join our Design & Product Development team. This role is critical for fabric development, sourcing, quality compliance, and supplier coordination, ensuring seamless execution of seasonal collections.
• Collaborate with the Design Team to understand seasonal concepts, color palettes, fabrics, and trend directions.
• Proactively source trend-focused woven fabrics, trims, and accessories aligned with buyer expectations.
• Research and present new fabric developments, finishes, textures, and innovations for upcoming seasons.
• Coordinate fabric and trim to support timely design execution.
• Translate design and trend requirements into practical sourcing solutions considering cost, quality, and lead time.
• Analyze global and regional market trends, raw material availability, and price movements to guide sourcing strategies.
• Develop and maintain a reliable supplier base capable of supporting creative and commercial needs.
• Work cross-functionally with Design and Merchandising teams to ensure smooth product development.
• Maintain detailed cost sheets, supplier data, and seasonal sourcing documentation.

Educational Requirements
• Bachelor of Science (BSc)
• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Design, or Apparel Manufacturing.
• Skills Required: accessories sourcing, Fabric Sourcing, costing knowledge, International Trade and Market Trends

Experience Requirements
• At least 5 year(s)
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
• Garments

Additional Requirements
• 5+ years of experience in woven fabric development and sourcing (freshers with exceptional skills may also apply).
• Strong technical knowledge of woven fabrics including construction, yarn types, GSM, and finishes.
• Hands-on experience in fabric, trims, and accessories sourcing.
• Skilled in fabric development, costing, and price negotiation.
• Good understanding of buyer quality standards, seasonal trends, and sustainable materials.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
